Thanks for links! I actually have nothing to say against nenena's assertion that the show is not empowering for girls. Damn straight it's not empowering, the worldview it is coming from is extremely depressing! It's empowering only in the sense that it reveals things about reality that are true, instead of papering over them. Then it makes a superhuman effort to end on an up note and reinforce the idea that there is value in the struggle, no matter what the eventual outcome. XD
