Testing whether If This, Then That will successfully crosspost an entry created here to my wordpress.

Does IFTTT have any use besides automatically spamming your stuff on one service to every other service you have an account at? So far I am also having it send a text message to my phone whenever it is raining.

EDIT: It works! Now I have no excuse for ever falling behind on wordpress, XD. (Also I guess I'll have to be more careful about checking for typos in entries here before hitting "post".)

This seems really excellent. (And targeted toward "heavy" Internet users, certainly, if not object-oriented programmers altogether. XD)

XD. What are you using it for? I set up crossposting to WP, the thingy to remind me to take an umbrella, and tried to set up a task to delete all my echobazaar tweets 15 minutes after they are posted, but you can only add to the cruft of the internet with this thing, not subtract from it. ^^; After that I got stuck, since I already use the services themselves for a lot of this kind of crossposting.

Oh! I am also using it to filter posts to a group blog for just the author I am interested in. The blog doesn't offer any kind of "subscribe to author" feed, just a text byline. But IFTTT crawls the feed looking for the attribution I want, and then sends just those posts to Google Reader. Excellent.

If I still read fanfiction, I could set it up to watch delicious or AO3 for my rare pairing and "save for later", I guess. XD
