Tags and The Underworld
Jun. 16th, 2005 08:06 pmI bet you million-post customers are jealous now. I’ve already got all my entries tagged.
Tags are a new feature reserved for journals using the S2 style system** whereby you filter your recent view to display only a certain category of entries. So they’re sort of like memories, except less convenient if there are too many of them since you have to scroll through several pages to get what you want.
( I still like them, though, for these reasons. )
**Clearly an underhanded way to get people to purchase paid time. We won’t make this incredibly useful new feature exclusive to paid users, LJ says. But we will make it hard for free users to have tags and a journal that looks good.At least it’s a change from ICONS ICONS MORE ICONS.
If the tag thing wasn’t enough to make you jealous, there’s a comic/gaming store having an out-of-business sale a block from my apartment. $70 got me:
1. seven volumes of Ranma ½ (IT NEVER GETS OLD.)
2. six volumes of Please Save My Earth (Fav. of all time, which is why I’m buying even though the entire series is available through bittorent.)
3. two volumes of Petshop of Horrors (In the second volume D gives an awesome Eastern vs Western morality rant which would, however, have worked better if Petshop was less prone to ignoring moral consistency in favor of Teh Gothic Horror. But whatever; I am mostly here for the art and D being a spaz.)
4. two volumes of Runaways (yaaay this series.
v_voltaire got me started by sharing the first chapter, so I will share it with you: Runaways 01. Opens with CDisplay unless you change the extension to .zip, and reads from left to right. This is Marvel, not manga.)
Plus a free keychain. V, are you sure I can’t get you anything? They carry three times as many gaming guides as manga titles, and five times more American comics than that. 60% off! *in a happy place, because in the US you don’t see manga discounted anywhere*
