1. The laptop's CD/DVD burner and I are fighting a war. Every day there are another half-dozen casualties. As I gaze across my desk, littered with the corpses of failed CD-Rs, my determination grows. Comrades! Victims of write-error! I swear on my honor that your sacrifice will not be in vain! ([livejournal.com profile] tarigwaemir, [livejournal.com profile] eruantale_arte, I’m sorry.)

2. I can't keeping reccing [livejournal.com profile] v_voltaire's [livejournal.com profile] theavatar100 drabbles. It'll get old, and we'll be here all day.
...maybe just one more.

3. What else was really short but really good recently?
[livejournal.com profile] pinkpuruu, Bleach 23. Captures a moment. Several moments.
[livejournal.com profile] sesame_seed, Viewfinder (deserted island). SO SO FUNNY. Also, go play Guess That Pairing with her.
[livejournal.com profile] tarigwaemir, Princess Mononoke. It's all thematic and stuff.
And [livejournal.com profile] eruntale_arte's Canterella/historical fic, which she should hurry up and post to [livejournal.com profile] 52_flavours so I can link to it. Giovanni Sforza! ♥
ETA: unlocked. Go read! You don't have to have read Cantarella, since this is more historical fiction than anything else.

4. Much more daunting are [livejournal.com profile] svz_insanity’s AkiHika and [livejournal.com profile] pellaz’s SasuNaru recs. K! You like epics too!

5. Cantarella OMG. I wish I knew more about Renaissance Italian noblemen so I could fangirl their manga incarnations. This series has, besides my eternal love for being set in Rome in the 15th century, very pretty art, twisted sibling relationships, power politics, an assassin who is also an angel (?), gratuitous boylove, and swordplay. It’s been picked up for US release, [livejournal.com profile] eruantale_arte says. Here's her description:

In the series, Rodrigo Borgia (later, the Pope Alexander VI) offers his illegitimate son's soul to the devil in hopes that he himself would become pope. Growing up, Cesare Borgia feels that he has no one in the world he can count on and finds himself relying more and more on his "demonic" powers. This gives rise to his desire for power and conquest--a quest to become his own god.

Post-script! Eruantale, have you read Eternal Sabbath chapters 63 and 64 yet? If yes COME HERE SO I CAN RANT AT YOU. You were right and now it's a cliffhanger and AHHH I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE. I hear there's only one more volume after this IZAKU BETTER GET HIS IN THE END. *gibbers*)

In the real world, one needs MONEY if one wishes to purchase something. (You have no idea how many times this has happened to me in the last week.)

Hey Death Note people who don't follow [livejournal.com profile] death_note: fanfiction by [livejournal.com profile] whale_meat. Misa introspective, post 59. Even if you dislike Misa, even if you think the comic should have ended by now, even if you think Ooba has smashed the comic's original dynamic into tiny L-shaped pieces, READ THIS FIC. It's thematic!

My love for Eternal Sabbath grows stronger by the day. By the HOUR. I used to like it for the mind games but now it is all about how much I identify with the heroine OMG. You'll see what I mean around chapter 42: ask yourself if you woldn't have reacted the exact same way. Err, provided you're a bit spacy and tend to over-analyze.

Meme from [livejournal.com profile] erunatale_arte:
1) Go somewhere with a lot of different anime.
2) Pick something you've never heard of.
3) Download the first episode and watch it.
4) Write a short review/summary/whatever on it. Was it what you expected? Would you reccomend it?

I did Goldfish Warning! As with any series whose title ends in an exclamation point, it attempts to break your brain with cute. Screencaps behind the cut so that I can show you just how well it succeeded.

Pink is the color of happiness! It's always fine all the year! )

Okay, and now I really do have to start studying for finals.

I should mention that I uploaded the first five volumes of Yami no Matsuei for [livejournal.com profile] darkeyedwolf a few days ago. (edit: taken down) Also, because [livejournal.com profile] telophase could use some more traffic (HA HA HA): check out this post of hers. It's mostly about what makes Fruits Basket a gateway drug really easy manga to get into, but there's also a bit about what makes Yami no Matsuei so hard. Interesting stuff.

***

Wrote this for [livejournal.com profile] chain_of_fics. It's abrupt and it goes over the wordlimit.

Series: Eternal Sabbath
Wordcount: ...1050. Aha?
Rating: PG13 for suicide. Please don't read if this bothers you.

Untitled fic here.

Just doing my part to break the cycle of impossible writing prompts. Eternal Sabbath is awesome, btw: it's dark and psychological (the main character (female) is a research psychologist) and creepy in a good way. Recent chapters have actually been sort of like Death Note (proof), but there's nothing supernatural about this series. Instead everything is explained with "science," including the fact that the main character (male) has super-healing powers and practices casual mind control.

ES is also by the mangaka of MARS, which amuses me to no end (typical shojo romance manga --> dark seinan insanity, hahaha).
