Halloween Door Decorating Contest Door
I think I need to put words in that large blank spot. Or maybe a ghost? I'm pretty lucky - my roomate is religious in a joining-the-most-cultlike-church-on-campus kind of way and in a voting-for-the-US-Taxpayers-Party kind of way, but not in a die-pagan-imagery-die kind of way. I was definately worried when she came back from class and there was only the tree and moon up (especially since they weren't coming down).
There was a meeting today, and I needed to go to it to keep my job, but I got off at the wrong bus stop and was stuck wandering through the COLD DARK and DESOLATE fields of North Campus instead. Without a jacket, and with not so many busses back. So I read the Lotus Sutra by the lights of passing cars, sitting in wet grass at an unlit bus stop. The good news is that there was no light pollution to ruin my enjoyment of tonight's total lunar eclipse. It wasn't so much a blood-red color as a dried-blood color, though, so that was disappointing.
(I am not a pagan. Just to clarify. Someone asked me the physics behind the eclipse and I could explain it to them!)
Go see The Incredibles. It's latest Pixar film with characters that look like they'd bounce if you threw them against a wall. Very, very Midwesternbut and very, very funny. Fun to watch, too - like watching a video game! Yes, and I'm not making it sound good but it is.
Oh yeah, and
is my submission for this week's
death_contest challenge ("humor").
