More Utena
Feb. 22nd, 2007 12:10 amEpisode 16: Reminds me of the "moral lessons" at the end of some Sailor Moon episodes. Ladies! Don't be taken in by designer labels! It's more important to have real taste.

Episode 17: Now that's more like it. Normally I'd complain that the show is spinning in circles re-introducing old characters, but the sheer viciousness of this episode makes up for it. "Cruelly innocent," try "pretending to be innocent while temporarily lacking the opportunity to be more cruel" orz.
Being played has the (unintended?) side effect of making Juri much more sympathetic. Now all we need is for Touga to secretly be a nice guy and the entire student council will have been redeemed.
"She hasn't changed. Not a bit." <-- And Anthy would know, wouldn't she.
***
Episode 18: Annnnnd we skip over all the weird stuff where Mitsuru wanted to be Touga in exchange for straight-up lapdoggery. Who's writing these, anyway? Though I guess it makes sense since Nanami harts her older brother.
References to indirect kissing and chocolate being not grown up: lame! Usually the show does a better job of not being Japanese than that. (Bentos aside...)
Juri you're my hero! Admiration and attraction used interchangeably, natch.
SWORDS = SEX LOLOL.

Episode 19: Wait. This isn't. Wakaba angst?!?!?! (whew.)
"If you've got something to say, just say it." <-- That'll be the day XD.
Too much red-herring blushing in this episode. Don't want to re-watch but suspect it won't make sense the second time either.
The moral of this story is ONLY STRAIGHT PEOPLE AREN'T TWISTED. ^^; Geeze.
