Real life content ahead: 4. Took a late train back from NYC and ended up in NB playing mahjong with [livejournal.com profile] sesame_seed, [livejournal.com profile] emblem, and [livejournal.com profile] sesame_seed's cousin for the lunar new year. It's a surprisingly straightforward game. I've been told the scoring is where it gets complicated. (We didn't play for money or keep score.)

3. Got a call back from a place! I was asleep (afternoon nap) and missed the call, but I am hoping to reach the person who matters today.

2. [livejournal.com profile] falxumbra helped me write the cover letter that resulted in the call back. Her advice was SO helpful, I may never be able to look at those early letters again. Luff you, V! We had lunch (Chinese in honor of the new year) on 7th Avenue and talked about books and stuff.

1. Met up with [livejournal.com profile] fiendery for dinner. It was warm and threatened to rain, but only rained a little. We had Japanese and then bubble tea near NYU campus. Good food, good atmosphere, and great company! I had a really good time. Eru's a smart, caring, and together (at least she gives the impression of it) person. She's wasted on business school. ^^; I think she should work for a nonprofit.

She's also good book and movie critic, but that's hardly a surprise. We talked about those two things, about writing, and about Life, and she promised to be my Italy expert if I ever need one (don't ask). Looking forward to seeing her again sometime.

I ended up leaving the transcript I'd come into the city for at the office. ^^; Ahaha.

Tons of people with black marks on their foreheads on the subway. It took me forever to realize that, duh, Ash Wednesday!

Finished Demian by Herman Hesse on the train. Saving the discussion for [livejournal.com profile] bibliophages, but I liked it.
