The excuse is that I'm new, which is really no excuse I all because haven't I been lurking around someone else's friends page for a month? Ehem.
1) I wonder what the protocol for interests is, as in, if there's someone with the same interest as me, is it OK to randomly talk to them? Even if it is something really, really random and I actually have nothing in common with them at all?

This brings me to my second point, which is:
2) Polls. I like them, but have you ever seen those journals which consist of nothing but poll results? Isn't that kind of sad? Excuse me while I hide away from anyone who was offended by that last remark, by which I mean everyone with a blog since that is what one *does* with blogs. But, I say, but! Don't you want to express yourself? Shouldn't you be using your own words rather than someone else's? Anyway, that's why memes are better, and posts better still. They tell a lot more about a person than a single linked picture ever could.
