Tried pomegranate tonight. Suddenly all those lines of poetry about lips stained red like, chapters in books about perfectly in-season when, throwaway mentions of seed-spitting while, 8,000 (it was probably more like half a dozen) times in the 1001 Nights someone prepares a dish of, etc, make sense. It's like there was this entire poetic vocabulary I was missing out on.
Pomegranate trees!

I think this was the resturant where I confused a Sweedish tourist for, who was it? Brad Pitt. I couldn't convince my family, but I managed to convince the English-speaking tourists at the next table. They spent the rest of the night pointing and whispering and taking discrete photographs. It's just as easy to be embarrassed for other people as for yourself, you know.
Speaking of things I should have done sooner, I really want to see the new Pride and Prejudice movie (so does my younger brother, unsurprisingly) but first, MUST READ THE BOOK. Marcie said she'd be finished with it two weeks ago, aauuuugh. If this goes on much longer I may cave -- it's a (famous!) romance so it's not like the movie will ruin the surprise ending, haha.
Speaking of un-surprising romances,
worldsepent! Do you remember when we were talking about Hana Yori Dango and how Tsukushi doesn't end up with the first person the mangaka set her up with, and I said that was unusual and sort of admirable and you said the only other romances like that you could remember weren't romances at all, but were tales-to-adulthood? This post (spoilers for two other shoujo series).
Apparently Tsukushi was going to go to Rui after all, but then fan mail tore them apart. Ahaha oh man.
