This ran in the school paper today. I think it's meant to be a serious editorial, but it reads so much like a parody of itself that it's hard to be sure. The opinions page of our newspaper is usually dominiated by anti-American leftist agitators, so sentences like I hope and pray that we as a nation can find the strength to help those who are suffering from homosexuality come as a bit of a surprise.
"I was 23 years old before I saw my first homosexual, and here was my youngest son, already confronted with two of them at the age of six...I’ve always felt it’s best to be honest with my children, so I laid it all out for him. I told him what homosexuality is, and that it is an abomination in the eyes of God. I told him about how homosexuality started in the summer of 1967, when the hippies decided to challenge the natural order that God established at the beginning of time. I told him that the two men he saw holding hands were sinners."
The worst part is that this is techinically the best-written editorial I've seen in that paper all month. Ugh! If only I weren't completely incapable of separating fact from fiction; these sorts of things often go right over my head.

EDIT2: Oh, so it is a joke. Ahaha? Either I or the author needs a better sense of humor; I'm not sure which.

OMG I FAIL AT WORDLIMITS. Or, in this case, in keeping to word limits while still conveying meaning. Can anyone even tell what the hell is supposed to be going on in these drabbles?
